Integrates Mission Into the Black Collective Foundation MN
Minneapolis, MN — Nov. 13, 2025 — After five years of advancing corporate action on racial equity in Minnesota, the Minnesota Business Coalition for Racial Equity (MBCRE) will sunset as an independent entity. Its mission and impact will continue through the Black Collective Foundation MN (The Collective), a Black-led philanthropic institution rooted in community and systems change.
“As MBCRE’s inaugural Managing Director,” said Tiffani Daniels, Chair, MBCRE Advisory Council, “I witnessed the stewardship of The Black Collective Foundation first hand, leaving me confident in the decision to transfer MBCRE’s legacy into their care. The Collective offers a powerful home where MBCRE’s values and vision can thrive.”
“I remember the fire and urgency of our calls at MBCRE’s inception,” said James Burroughs, MBCRE Founding Tri-Chair. “The seeding of this endowment is the next marker on a path not traveled. The Collective possesses the fuel necessary to keep the flame steady and growing.”
“This transition comes as economic conditions for Black Minnesotans are worsening,” said Lulete Mola, Co-Founder, Black Collective Foundation MN. “This endowment is a critical step toward long-term, self-determined prosperity. Social change calls for constant revision, and we must be willing to redo, refine, and reimagine our efforts until we get it right. We are grateful to continue this work and invite all to build with us.”

Founded in 2020, the Minnesota Business Coalition for Racial Equity (MBCRE) convened Minnesota’s corporate sector to advance racial equity and economic justice for Black Minnesotans. Over five years, it fostered corporate engagement, supported Black-led solutions, and advanced research on economic disparities. Its legacy continues through the Black Economic Prosperity Endowment and integration with the Black Collective Foundation MN.
